Jessica Alba Baby Line

Are these disposable diapers adorable or what?  Mother 2 Mother is constantly searching for unique items to bring to our readers.  We discovered the Jesscia Alba baby line.  These adorable diapers are available for purchase from her company Honest.  They are printed with lead-free inks, and made mostly from plant-based and sustainable materials.   The price point isn’t bad, cost is based on size as in all disposal diapers.  For example, you get 40 Newborn for $13.95 plus $5.95 shipping cost.  I love the different designs that you can choose from.  Look at the sweets diaper, it has ice cream cones, lolipops, and candy.  Imagine a baby with that little sweet booty.

Jessica offers a full line of organic, eco-friendly baby products.  She has 70 wipes for $4.95 a pack, which I thought was a good deal if your ordering other products.  Training pants, swimmies and she offers bath and body products as well as household products.

Jessica started her line when she was unable to find eco-friendly products for her own children, Honor and Haven.  The only draw back that I see is, customers must sign up on Honest.com and choose a subscription package.  Your products are delivered monthly.  I’ve never been big on this type of service.  I may decide that I want to purchase something different during a particular month; however, I would not be able to do that if I’m commited to Honest.

If this type of service and product appeals to you, check out Honest.com

Adorable Rain Gear For Toddlers

I purchased this adorable frog rain set for my grandson several months ago.  We had taken him and my granddaughter to The Picture People for photos, and they had this adorable Kidorable set as a prop.  I couldn’t get my grandson out of it.  Each time we walked toward him, he would take off running.  Finally I bargained,  I told him that I would purchase a set for him if he would take it off so we could leave.  Now, I normally don’t bargain with my grandchildren, but since I had fallen in love with it too it was a win-win situation.  I found the set at Amazon.  Depending on size, the rain boots are up to $32.00, the umbrella $13.00, and the jacket up to $30.00.

Kidorable also has the set in ladybug, fireman, dinosaur, and a pirate to name a few.  This set would make a great birthday or Christmas gift.  The boots are perfect for those rainy days ahead and the umbrella is just as adorable.  This will surely generate a few giggles too.

We know your time is precious, so we surfed the net for the best price.  You can purchase these great gift ideas at Macy’s.  They have 20% off the set.

Isn’t my grandson adorable in his froggy gear?

Celebrity Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving, celebrities, tablescapes

Check out these celebrity Thanksgiving tables and turkey.  There’s lots of cooking and baking to be done during the holiday season.  We love sharing ideas for decorating and recipes.  Additionally, Mother 2 Mother also enjoyed viewing the tables of several celebrities.  I thought I would share a few of the pictures tweeted by P Diddy, Conner Cruise, Mariah Carey, Julianne Hough, and Jessica Alba.

Most importantly, I love seeing celebrities decorating and cooking their own holiday meals instead of a chef.  It makes them a little more human to me.  But, when I see dining room tables like this, I know that it’s not an everyday person who lives in a house that would boast a dining room of this magnitude.

This is P Diddy’s table.  Although the table is massive, it’s simple, but elegant.  I love the candles.  They make a statement.  The flower arrangements are simple, and they don’t overwhelm the table.  I love the U shape table.  It would be perfect for a buffet style party.

Also, P. Diddy shared this picture via Instagram.  He’s holding a beautiful bird.  Not sure if he cooked it or his mother.  She was pictured in several posts.  It’s a beautiful bird regardless of who cooked it.  I would take several slices of that baby.

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon’s table.  Absolutely beautiful!  I love the head table between the guess tables.  Together, but separately.  The glass doors provide a stunning view and a change of scenery for the guests.

Celebrity Thanksgiving Tables

This is my favorite table.  It’s Julianne Hough’s.  I love the turkeys and the turkey platter displayed along with the colorful wreaths and the simple stoneware.  You would find this setting in an everyday home. Love it!

Here’s Jessica Alba preparing her turkey.  Her kitchen looks like mine after a day of preparing a large feast.  Hope she had someone to help clean up the mess.  I’m usually on my own.

Connor Cruise tweeted this picture of their bird.  Looks perfect!  Which, is your favorite table setting?  My vote goes to Julianne Hough.  I love that it is festival, bright and simple.  Thanks to the Daily Mail, Tweeter, and Instagram for the photos.

Kids Funny Face Breakfast – Part III

Welcome to Part III of Kids Funny Face Breakfast.  This is Eggy Face.  Isn’t he adorable, and he’s made with healthy ingredients that your little one will happy to put in their tummy.  To make this funny face you will need the following ingredients:

  • Eggs cooked omelet-style in a large skillet (face) – I will just be adding cheese to mine
  • Sliced ham or a sausage patty(mouth)
  • Sliced cheese (eyes)
  • Halved cherries  or raisins (eyes)
  • Halved cherry tomatoes (nose)
  • Clementine or tangerine wedges (ears)
  • Slice a smile into the ham or sausage patty

Be sure to check back for our future lunch and dinner meals for kids that we will be featuring.  They are adorable and appetizing.  Your kids will love meal time.  Be sure to follow Mother 2 Mother on the left so you don’t miss a post.

I have modified the recipe slightly with the raisins, sausage patty and tangerine wedges.

This recipe is from the book Funny Food: 365 Fun, Healthy, Silly, Creative Breakfasts by Bill & Claire Wurtzel, and can be purchased from Amazon.

Say Good Bye To Cursive Writing

Say Good Bye to Cursive Writing!  That’s right, it looks like its being pushed aside by the keyboard.  People don’t write letters or notes these day, technology has replaced it with emails and text messages.  As a matter of fact Florida, Hawaii, Indiana, and North Carolina have already removed cursive writing from the curriculum.  They will teach children how to print until the third grade, and than typing will become the focus.

Personally, I believe children should still learn how to write in cursive.  Signatures are still needed on legal documents, checks, and contracts.  What will our children do, print their names or simply make an X?  Our seniors still use cursive writing, most are not technically savvy.  Will our children not be encouraged to read letters from great-grandma. What about historical documents?

So far penmanship is still a part of the curriculum in our schools.  Personally, I believe that it should remain and keyboarding should be added.  Do you think children should still be required to learn how to write in cursive?  Is it still a part of your child’s education?  Leave us a comment, we would love to hear what’s happening in your school district.

Holiday Candle Ideas

I love candles, and burn them regularly.  I was searching for holiday candle ideas, and found these.  They look easy to make, and I wanted to share the idea with my readers in case you were looking for ideas.

The first candle centerpiece requires Indian Corn and a cake candle.  I would suggest using a rubber band to hold the corn in place.  Place a few ears around the candle, using the rubber band to hold the ears in place.  Slip additional ears under the rubber band until you form a complete circle.  I plan to use a ribbon instead of the cord.  Place the ribbon over the rubber band and tie a bow.

Grocery stores or farmer’s markets may still have Indian corn.

It’s too late use this idea for me, but it’s adorable.  The leaves are too dry for me to risk using them around a flame.  Boom!  Get the message, lol.  If the leaves are still falling in your area you may want to try this idea.

This is my favorite candle idea.  I will be using my grandchildren on the pictures and festive ribbon for Christmas centerpieces.  I’ll be using pillar candles as they are taller.  Dig out those hurricane glasses ladies and get to work.  If you have other ideas for candle centerpieces, please leave us a comment.
