Welcome to our Letter C printables in our preschool/kindergarten fruit and vegetable series. Our picky eaters may be receptive to our Letter C word this week. This week’s word is Carrot.
If your unfamiliar with our fruit and vegetable series, they are activities that are designed to familiarize children with a fruit or vegetable that starts with each letter of the alphabet. Did your child enjoy the Letter A and Letter B activities? If you missed them, you can download them the Letter A activities here and the Letter B activities here. Additionally, the printables will help them with cutting skills, writing each letter in the word, and eventually working their way to writing the actual word of the week.
Have the kids find the fruit/vegetables in the magazines or seed catalogues. They can practice cutting and pasting the picture on to a piece of paper. I requested catalogues from various on-line seed sites. They are wonderful for this activity, and they are free. If you have other magazines that you can use, that’s fine too. Pictures are great visuals for kids.
They can also color our carrot coloring page. Did you know that carrots can be orange, but also yellow, purple, black, red, and white.
Additionally, talk about how carrots can be used. For example, with dips, soup or feeding animals. Use our Carrot Fact Sheet to come up with a few other interesting facts to share. For example, discuss how carrots are different colors. You can also discuss the animals who love carrots.
Also, fix a snack using carrots for our Letter C activities. Making food fun can help eliminate picky eater problems too. Whip up a batch of hummus and dip carrot sticks in it. How about a carrot smoothie or a piece of carrot cake. Letter C is for Carrots. Also, stay tuned for Letter C Snack ideas.
