Jessica Simpson’s Nude Pose

Jessica Simpson has duplicated Demi Moore in her nude pregnancy photo shot.  Jessica is gracing the cover of Elle magazine, and looks beautiful.  Jessica said she wasn’t uncomfortable with the shot, but in fact felt comfortable in her skin.  She has stated that she is more confident than she has ever been.  Pregnancy can be such a beautiful thing for some.  Many are saying the pose is getting old; however, it’s generating some buzz.  Personally, I wouldn’t have the encourage to pose in all my glory.  Besides, I didn’t feel pretty when I was pregnant.  Maybe because women at that time weren’t encouraged to embrace our beauty during pregnancy.   Maternity clothes weren’t fashionable, and we surely wouldn’t have posed in the nude for a photo shoot.  Just looking at yourself in the mirror was a nightmare for most.  My how time changes things.  My daughter took so many pictures of her growing bump with my grandson, and did so with pride.  She showed her bump to everybody she encountered, lol.

Jessica has revealed that she is expecting a girl, and baby girl will be a whopper.  Her doctor is expecting the baby to be around 10 lbs.  Jessica is contemplating starting a maternity line.  She believes a woman should feel beautiful during her pregnancy, and should be able to wear stylish clothing.  She has stated that she has stayed away from maternity clothes, but purchases regular clothing in bigger sizes.  I love the maxi dresses she has worn, and think they make great maternity dresses.

It is rumored that Jessica has gained 40 lbs. during her pregnancy.  Doctors recommend an extra 25 – 35 lb. weight gain during preganancy.  Jessica has reportedly signed a $3 million deal with Weight Watchers to loose her extra pounds.  She revealed that she enjoyed a slice of cheesecake before her photo shoot, lol.

What do you think about Jessica’s nude photo?  How much weight did you gain, and what was your favorite craving when you were expecting?  Leave us a comment on you experience carrying your bundle of joy.  Thanks to Elle Magazine for the photo of Jessica.

Green To Grow Baby Bottle Give Away

Green to Grow has become a front runner for it’s BPA free baby bottles and nipples. As parents we want nothing but the best for our babies. Green to Grow is making 5 and 10-ounce dishwasher-safe baby bottles with beginner (0-3 months), intermediate (3-6 months), or expert (6+ months) nipples. You ask what is BPA? BPA is the abbreviation for Bisphenol A. Bisphenol A is a chemical thought to be hazardous to humans. In 2008, the media reported on the findings of the government when they questioned its safety. Retailers began removing BPA products from their shelves. Green to Grow, which is owned by a Los Angeles-based husband and wife team, decided to make a commitment to produce BPA Free products for our children. They package their products in 100 percent recycled paper and donate 1 percent of its revenue to environmental causes. They also manage a “Bottle to Babies” program that distributes baby bottles to women’s and homeless shelters. I love companies who donate back to the community, especially to women who are in need for their children. I was thrilled when I was given the opportunity to review one of the Green To Grow bottles. I was sent the 10 oz. wide mouth bottle shown. It has an adorable little smiling fruit on the face of the bottle and comes with the nipple and cap. Green To Grow bottles have been featured Pregnancy & Newborn, Baby Couture, Today’s Parent magazines as well as ABC and NBC news.  Green To Grow has a Welcome Home Set too. It includes everything new parents need to start nourishing a baby with confidence. The set includes: two 5 oz BPA-free baby bottles, two 10 oz BPA-free baby bottles (all of which come with Beginner nipples, 0 – 3 months); one package of Intermediate nipples (3 nipples per pack, 3 – 6 months); one package of Expert nipples (3 nipples per pack, 6+ months); and a super soft, organic cotton baby cloth, good for burps, slurps, baths, and splashes! This set will make a great baby shower or new baby gift.

Happy Birthday Xavier

My adorable grandson is turning 1 at the end of the month. It’s hard to believe that a year has gone by since he entered this world on 9/28/2007 at 5lbs 13 ounces. He was so small I could hold him in the palm of my hand. He was actually the smallest baby born into our family.

It has been amazing to watch the milestones in his life from holding his own bottle, crawling, getting his first tooth, his first experience with baby foods, toddler foods, walking at 11 months and now celebrating his first birthday.

I call him my miracle baby. My daughter was diagnosed with a kidney disease at 16. As a result, she has taken high blood pressure medicine everyday since to ensure no further damage to her kidneys. I was really against her becoming pregnant, we knew that a pregnancy would cause more damage. She insisted on giving her husband at least one child. When she announced her pregnancy, I honestly had mixed emotions. I thought about the movie Steel Magnolias constantly. What if she dies from kidney failure. She and her husband thought about it too. They discussed which of the two would live if she ran into trouble during the delivery, her or the baby. She wanted the baby to live. Her husband decided that he would never be able to face me if he made that decision. She is my only child. Talking about emotional moments and a mountain of stress.

As a result of her risky pregnancy, the doctors decided to induce labor at 32 weeks. At 9:00 p.m. on 9/27/2007, Marisha entered the hospital anxious to give birth to her son. Xavier decided he wasn’t ready to enter the world. If we wanted him out, we would have to send a doctor to get him. After 30 hours of labor, they decided to do a C-Sect. The above picture is of Xavier when they brought him out of the delivery room. He was on his way to the nursery, but stopped for a brief moment to let Gran admire him and to snap a picture. He’s been posing for the camera ever since. I’m telling you, if you bring out a camera that boy will stop and pose for the camera. He has brought so much joy into my life. He is truly my little sweetie pie. I can’t wait to see what the next year brings.

Breastfeeding and Intelligence

A recent study in Scotland revealed that breastfeeding does not make babies more intelligent. Scientist say that breastfed babies have advantages including reducing infections, respiratory illnesses and diarrhea, but enhancing a child’s intelligence does not appear to be among them. Studies show that higher IQs in babies are a result of the mother’s IQ, not because the baby was breastfed.

A person’s IQ is unrelated to their heart and character. Highly educated and intelligent people have been exposed as some of the most wicked people on the face of the earth, and those who can bearly read or write have hearts of gold. I believe that breastfeeding is a personal choice, but whatever method a mother chooses to feed her child she should be comfortable with her choice and strive to rise a healthy, productive human being.
