Welcome to CVS. You can find these feathered friends wandering the grounds at our local CVS welcoming the customers. Aren’t they adorable. These little fellows will pose while you take their picture and entertain the children for a few moments. The parking lot is full of moms and their little ones enjoying the new greeters.
When I saw them I wondered if Wal-Mart would pick up on the idea and fire their greeters. Why do I say this, because these feathered friends are friendlier than the greeters at my local Wal-Mart. The greeters there look like they’ve eaten a jar of sour pickles, they’re mad as hell about it, and they’re ready to take it out on you. I’ve yet to have one ask me if I needed a cart or say Welcome to Wal-Mart. They act like they’re doing people a favor by letting them in the store to spend their own money. There have been times when I’ve looked at a few of them, and said to myself I’m scared of you. I wanted to ask if they had woke up that way, if they were having a bad day or what, but I was actually afraid to say anything. So I just kept walking, and occasionally I would look back over my shoulder to make sure they weren’t following me with an ax, lol.
Aside from the mean greeters, just trying to find a parking space at that store raised my blood pressure a few notches. By the time I reached the front door of that store I was usually frizzled. A warm welcome would have been nice.
OK, here I go again! LOL
I hardly ever go to our Walmart because it is just nasty. Nasty dirty, nasty messy. But when I did, the greeters just didn’t seem to care and/or were so old they looked like they were sick and didn’t want to be doing anything. I feel bad for the folks who are in their situation, too. I did notice the checkers were usually older woman but they were pretty friendly.
But I stay away from Walmart and frequent our new local Target. So much better!
