Here are the Featured posts from last week!

incometracker3
Dorothy chose How I Divide My Revenue from Selling On Etsy + FREE Printable from Mama’s Got It Together. “It’s my favorite post for a couple reasons. One reason is obvious–it’s about Etsy and I just love “All Things Etsy” 😉 Another reason though is because it is very informative about how to handle the financial details of an Etsy shop…something that I really need to start keeping track of. I’ve always just sort of gone with it…and hoped I was making a profit. With her free printable, I’ll be able to keep better track of where my Etsy income goes. It has also inspired me to make some free printables to offer my blog readers!”
lacepumpkin-767x1024
Tina chose DIY Lovely Lace Pumpkin from Living Frugal with Erika. “A simple, elegant and affordable DIY for Halloween. I love lace!!”
Pumpkin-Title
Rhonda chose Fall Pumpkin Table Centerpiece from Craving Some Creativity. “Fall is my favorite time of year, and I’m always looking for decorating ideas. This would be a great center piece from now through Thanksgiving. Beautiful.”
true_happiness_will_give_you_freedom_d-466001
Meghan chose I Quit from Living in Mommywood. “I love this post about the writer’s daughter. I think all too much we settle for things in life. Her daughter has so much courage, and a strong belief in herself, to know what she wants to do in life. She doesn’t settle for a job just to have a job. She doesn’t want to just work to live. She is someone who wants to be happy, challenged and love what she does. And thank you to mom for raising such a wonderful adult.”
Shabby-Chic-Fall-Wreath-Tutorial-14-700x1024
Elina chose Shabby Chic Fall Wreath Tutorial from The Painted Hinge. “This was such a pretty wreath. I loved how she explained every step of the process and showed before and after pics of the frame she used to create the wreath. I loved the chicken wire she added to it, the burlap elements and the chalkboard squares. This was a great Fall project!!”
Ninja-Mum-300x200
Bernadyn chose I am a Ninja Mum by Night from Mum-bo-jumbo.com. “I thought this post was so entertaining to read and something many parents can relate to. I know I can since this is what I go through right now when I’m putting my little girl to bed. Many of us moms do become ninjas by night, sneaking around so we don’t wake up the kids!”
wpid-imag4890_20141006164507891
Sonya chose Making a Pie — a Story of Independence from Mommy Crusader and her Knights and Ladies. “It’s the story of a mom who realizes her child is growing up and transitioning from a fairly dependent child to one that is capable of being more independent. It is a moment that we will all experience as parents.”
berry-kale-smoothie
Silvie chose Berry Kale Smoothie Recipe from Hairspray and High Heels. “I chose this past because I love smoothies and I have started trying to incorporate kale into the smoothies I make. This smoothie really hit the spot. It was absolutely delicious!”
Screen Shot 2014-09-30 at 10.37.30 pm
Tenns chose Baby Essentials ~ Part 1 {Guest Post} from Mummy Goes Mad. “This is an excellent roundup of baby essentials. I think any expectant mother would find this list extremely useful and helpful. Even as someone who has an older baby, the list is still very relevant to me.”
Lemon-Sugar-Scrub
Kelly chose Homemade Lemon Sugar Scrub from Coupons and Freebies Mom. “I love making my own body scrubs. They feel indulgent, but are very frugal to make.”
homemade-bisquick-label
Stacey chose Homemade Bisquick Recipe from This Mama Loves. “One of my favorite things to eat as a kid was bisquick dumplings with a roast and carrots! As a matter of fact that was the meal that I requested the most for special occasions! LOL! My mom would also make the bisquick drop biscuits quite often with fried chicken, sausage gravy, eggs or for just about any other kind of meal, and of course, one can’t forget the bisquick pancakes! Sadly, for my family, bisquick is very expensive and goes very quickly, so this would be an amazing time and money saver for a large family! Thank you so much for sharing!”
PeanutButter2-682x1024Cathy chose How to Make Homemade Peanut Butter from Saving with Shellie. “Our family loves peanut butter and we eat tons of it! I never thought of making my own, and not only does Shellie give a great recipe for homemade peanut butter but she adds these amazing variations for different types! I pinned this amazing recipe and I am looking forward to making some!”
25waysimage
Natasha chose 25 ways to get your child’s attention from Just a Touch of Crazy. “This post is the truth! I could call my son several times, and either he hears me and ignores me or he really doesn’t hear me. If I even remotely try to do something for myself or the phone rings, then there he is right in my face seeking attention. I couldn’t have explained it any better myself! Great post! :)”

Natasha also chose this post. “I completely understand where Leilani is coming from in this post. Sometimes, it’s easy to ignore what’s going on or just respond nicely and keep moving. But then there are those moments where you just snap – you can’t handle the continuous whining, calling Mommy seven million times, or holding on to you for dear life as they beg for something. I’ve had many of those days myself and I have just 1 son – I can only imagine with 2!”
six-lessons-six-months-640x423Kae chose 6 Lessons I’ve Learned in My First Six Months of Marriage from Belle Brita. “Beautiful couple that already know the fundamentals of marriage and are willing to make it work together. It’s good to see such love, compromise, and passion between two people.”

Mari chose 27 Delicious Caramel Recipes from Memories By the Mile. “Going through her share of such great varieties reminded me of being a young girl in elementary school and going to the candy store and buying pieces of caramel candy for a penny each. I would buy a dollars worth and finish it before I got home. Ahhhh memories! Thanks Wanda for share wink wink.”
08_a_coffeelove2
Jillian chose Coffee Decor from Shoppe by Scout Mob from Home Is Where The Heart Is. “I chose this post because my current obession is coffee!! blogger-image--1898869712

Bacon-and-Roasted-Garlic-Guacamole-20
Kelly chose SRC – Bacon and Roasted Garlic Guacamole from Annie’s Noms. “Bacon, Roasted Garlic and Guacamole all together?!? There is no explanation necessary about why this is my favorite!”
Multiple Photos Frame(Non-Permanent)P
Mari chose Multiple Photos Frame (Non-Permanent) from With A Blast. “Wow this week was tough I had three favorites but I stuck to Linda’s Multi Photo Frame because I love to display my photographs everywhere! This was a great, quick and easy way to show off your favorite photos without having too much of a commitment such as nails and frames. You can always switch up the tape etc…loved it!!!”
Chicken and Dumplings2
Cathy chose Chicken and Dumplings in a Slow Cooker from My Turn For Us. “This chicken and dumplings dish is the perfect comfort food for a crisp, fall day! I love that this meal is packed with fresh goodness, prepared in the slow cooker and ready to enjoy after a busy day! I pinned this recipe for those days when slow cooker meals come in handy! “
REvealing-Abs-
Meghan chose Getting Back Into (or Keeping Up!) a Fitness Routine from 10 Years and Counting: A Weight Loss Journey. “I have been trying to get back into shape as well and I constantly make the excuse, “I just don’t have time.” She has some great ideas as well as some short workouts that will be really helpful as I set my fitness goals.”

Stacey chose Wax Paper Melted Crayon Art from Giggles Galore. “I absolutely remember making these, as a kid in school! They were really so colorful and so much fun. Rhonda chose 4 Ways to Ensure Your Child’s School Success from Lady Blogger.  “With the all problems that we encounter in our school systems, it so refreshing to know there are teachers who care and who reach out to parents so they can help make our children’s school year a success.”
stop-doing-that-for-your-kids-
Rachel chose Stop Doing That For Your Kids from Your Modern Family. “With a busy lifestyle, the “because it is easier” is so tempting sometimes. Love her honestly and awesome reminder.”
Natasha also chose this post. “Great post! It may be because I was raised by stringent grandparents or that I am a single mom, but I am a stickler on my son cleaning up after himself and helping me around the house. I have even instituted Clean-Up Saturdays where we clean up the entire apartment. It’s great to encourage our kids to do for themselves – it’s definitely good for them!”
Bedtime Anxiety
Yolanda chose How To Deal With Bedtime Anxiety from Barbie Bieber and Beyond. “The reason I selected this one is because I am in the pass where I am fighting with my son to sleep in his own bed. I know we will have lots of different bedtime issues as he grows up, so it was nice to read an article that let me know that I am not alone!”

writing tips
Jessica chose 5 Simple Tips for Squeezing Writing Into Your Everyday Life from Georgia Lee – Writing to the Sound of Legos Clacking. “I truly needed Georgie’s post! I am suffering from writer’s block due to an upcoming dissertation I need to write. Quite frankly, I am brain-dead! Ick!!! I love her suggestion, especially #1 – write something everyday. Honestly, this is good practice tha I need to enforce on myself with the dissertation writing AND to keep up with blogging. Thanks, again! 15 minutes a day of writing, here I come!!”
Jillian chose this post. “I chose this post because I am looking for ways to get more writing into my day. I just never seem to have time – but this post reminds me it isn’t about finding extended time, but a few minutes here and there would be just fine.”
IMG_2457
Meghan chose Mommy Moments, I Must Confess from Winks and Eyerolls. “I really loved reading this post. Even though it was only 10 months ago that my little girl was the same age as the poster, it feels like so long ago. I was able to relive every moment with her…and it made me want another little one!”
DSC_0567
Cathy chose Saving Memories from Life with Peanut. “Megan shares an amazing idea to help you capture and remember all of the little things that your kids do that as time passes you forget about. My kids are in elementary school and Megan’s idea is the perfect way for me to someday reveal to them the moments of their childhood! I am starting tomorrow! 🙂 Check out Megan’s blog to see exactly how she is saving memories!”
Tenns also chose this post. “I love this idea! This is such a creative way to keep track of memories. I’m not great at documenting things, because it’s so hard to keep up with how fast littles grow. I’ll definitely keep this idea in mind as I document memories and keep track of things with my son.”
KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA
April chose Great Learning Games for Preschoolers from Life’s Little Projects. “My two year old, Bee, has already conquered letters, numbers, colors and shapes, yet then I got stuck on what to teach her next. As this school year starts, I wanted to give her a lesson plan too, but what to do next? Well, Amie Jo had several answers to my problem to keep her moving forward. I’m starting to get excited about this new year.”

IMG_7660
Natasha chose How to get your 4 year old to take a nap from Just a Touch of Crazy. “I love this post! Although my son is 3, it takes a wish and a prayer to get him to take a nap. He sleeps so easily at school, but when’s he home – it’s a whole different story. Leilani’s list is a perfect depiction of what I have to do for naptime and for bedtime. 1977515_origCe Ce chose Homeschool Days – A Day In The Life 2014-2015 from Life’s Hidden Treasures. “I’m new to homeschooling and need plenty of examples of how to create an effective schedule, I thought this post was very helpful!”
15-tips-to-carving-the-best-pumpkin
Becky chose 15 Tips to Carving the Best Pumpkin from Living Frugal with Erika. “I love this post because I’m itching for fall to truly get here. I love carving pumpkins with my son and can’t wait to use some of these tips this year.”
holidaymoney
Rachel chose Easy Ways to Earn Extra Money For the Holidays {From Home!} from Work at Home Wisdom. “Seriously, the holiday rush will be on us much sooner than we even want to think about. And I love earning a little extra money. She has put together a great list and her own experiences which is really valuable.”
starbucks-apple-cider-recipe-343x500
Kelly chose Homemade Starbucks Caramel Apple Cider Recipe from My Frugal Adventures. “I love the caramel cider from Starbucks, but a yummy version that you can make at home is much better.”
Double-Tiered-Wood-Slice-Serving-Platter1
Tara chose Double Tiered Wood Slice Serving Platter from Houseologie. “I love how Leigh Anne created an amazing serving platter from a couple pieces of wood slices from the craft store. So creative and unique!”
toddler-not-talking
Sandy chose My Toddler Isn’t Talking Yet – Should I Be Worried? from West Coast Mama. “I had a really hard time picking my favorite this week, but I ultimately decided on this post because, to me, it summarizes the most important guide we have in parenting. We have to rely on our gut instinct. As parents we know our kids better than anyone else. Our gut will tell us which way to go when we have a concern about our kids.”
Image-halle-berry-emmys-2014-emmy
Kimberly chose My Picks For The 2014 Best and Worst Emmys Dresses from Mother 2 Mother Blog. “”I love seeing the stunning attire on the red carpet at awards shows. The Emmys did not disappoint this year and Rhonda nailed it with her picks. Find out where Halle Berry, Camila, Alves, Lena Dunham, and Viola Davis landed on her list.”
9180500_orig
Cindy chose How We Succeeded In Becoming A One-Income Family from Life’s Hidden Treasures. “We have been living off basically 1 income for the last 23 years. I brought a lot of debt into our marriage…don’t do that! We have worked hard and have just a little debt left. Our house and cars are paid off all that is left is 1 pesky old credit card and a small loan. Living on 1 income is not as difficult as it seems when your priorities are in order.”
Chelsea also chose this post. “This post was surprisingly inspirational. When I found it on the linkup, I thought it would be a how-to, step-by-step post on saving money, which I’m always looking to do. Instead, Cathy shared her family’s experience and how they have ‘freed’ themselves through tithing. Such a great reminder of what is most important in life. So happy I found this post!”
100_1742
Stacey chose Homemade Soap Scum Shower Cleaner from Robyn’s View. “Now that we are a single income family, I am always trying to find new homemade cleaning recipes. I can’t wait to make some to try in our bathroom! Thank you so much for sharing!”
Why I Was Scared To Have A Boy
Natasha chose I Was Scared to Have A Boy from The Contented Wife Blog. “I was so fearful of having a boy…I didn’t know what to expect and I worried about the same things that you did. I worried that he would grow older and shun me or our mother-son bond wouldn’t withstand the test of times. I still worry about those times – but I cherish the moments that I have with him now. And I’m glad that I did that, rather than worrying about everything else. Those are the moments that will last forever, even well after he’s married and moved on with his life. But you’re right – sons always have a bond with their mothers, well after they move on with their life.”
Victoria also chose this post. “I chose [this post] because it was a topic I could relate to. When I found out I was pregnant with my first son I was scared out of my mind. I knew boys were rough and felt they were harder to raise than girls were. I had no clue how I would make it as a mom of a boy. Therefore, when I saw this post linked up this week it immediately gained my attention.”

Good Luck to Toni and this will be a great journey to read along with!”

Me-to-We
Jessica chose Gratitude vs. Mindfulness from Reflective Mama. “I love her take on concentrating on the “now”. Today, I think many of us tend to get super busy with “distractions” such as emails, text messages, etc. whenever we have that “free moment.” I think we need to unplug during the day and appreciate the “now” around us like the baby giggles or even taking time to smell the roses. As a tall woman who loves her milk, I guess I set myself up for the crazy. 🙂 In all seriousness, I get asked a lot of questions about my twins because they are such polar opposites. Not only do they look absolutely nothing alike, but their personalities and strengths are completely different. And it looks like one of my little men is going to be a lefty! It’s always nice to connect with other twin mamas, because there is nothing quite like having two little ones running about. It really takes one to know one. “
blogger-image--1272672491
Victoria chose Selfish Mom Moments from Working Mom Magic. “I chose Selfish Mom Moments because I can totally relate. As a mom of three small boys, I try to be as unselfish as possible. However, sometimes moms need some times to themselves.”

Stacey chose To the Cashier Who Called My Child Naughty from Organized Chaos. “I find it sad that, somewhere along the line we have lost the teachings to treat others as you would like to be treated! To cause a little one to question himself and whether or not he is “naughty” or not, just by making a thoughtless and uncaring comment is not acceptable. Thanks for sharing!”
Frugal-Pinableimage

I don’t know the last time that I had a full, uninterrupted sleep – probably right before I found out I was pregnant lol. If my son sleeps in his bed, it’s not all night – he ends up in my bed at some point. Which means I wake up and see him standing next to my bed. Or wake up because I’m kicked or slapped in the middle of the night. Or wake up because he’s snoring next to me. Either way, I don’t sleep. And I’ve somewhat gotten used to it.”
5-Summer-Lunchboxes-001
Natasha also chose 5 Creative Lunchbox Ideas from A Mom’s Take. “With my son only being 3, I have to be ever so creative with his lunchbox options. He just likes what he likes, and unless I am relatively creative, he probably won’t try it. Thanks for sharing some great creative lunchbox ideas!”

zucchini-roundup1-1024x1024
Katy chose The Ultimate Zucchini Recipe Roundup from Mommy on Demand. “I have been on the hunt for new ways to get my toddlers to eat zucchini during their veggie strike. This round up has some great recipes that I know they’ll love, and a few fancier options that I can make for the adults!”
Blessing-Bag-Kits
Cindy chose Blessing Bags – Keep on Hand for those in Need or Donate to Homeless Shelter from Thrifty NW Mom. “I love this! Our old church had a large outreach to the homeless community and even a Saturday night meal and church service for them. Throughout the year we would gather items similar to these bags to reach out to people we saw on the streets…and invite them to church. Now that we are at a different church, I still need to be reaching the homeless and needy of our community in a tangible way and this post reminded me of that.”
Baby-Daddy-Drama-333x500
Victoria chose I Can’t Take It Anymore! Tips to End Baby Daddy Drama from Epic Mommy Adventures. “I chose this post because it is something that I can personally relate too. When reading the post I could see that there was real life experience put into the post and those are the posts that I really love to read.”
FF-No-stress-attitude-potty-training-797x1024
Becky chose A No-Stress Attitude About Potty Training from Fruitful Families. “I loved this post because it is totally how I feel about potty training and we only trained one. I didn’t let it stress me out, and we really just waited until our son was ready. This post is a great read for moms!”
Jillian also chose this post. “I chose this post because we are reaching the time when we’ll be needing to potty train my son and this has great ways to keep it a stress-free experience.”
freezer_biscuits_1-657x1024
Sandy chose Homemade Freezer Biscuits from Ten At The Table. “I think having these freezer biscuits on hand will make our busy school morning a little bit easier. Just put them in the fridge the night before and pop them in the oven while we are getting ready. I can’t wait to give them a try.”
All-women-becomelike-their-mothers.That_
Rhonda chose I Can’t Take It Anymore Tips to End Baby Daddy Drama from Epic Mommy Adventures. “As a single mother who has raised a daughter and dealt with baby’s daddy drama, the tips are very insightful and will help eliminate unnecessary stress. Great advice.”
kleankanteen
Kelly chose My Five Camping-with-Littles Must-Haves (And ONE thing you’ll never need!) from Mommy Life after PhD. “I chose this one because I think it is wonderful for everyone to be out in nature and enjoying time with their families, but many people wait “until the kids are bigger”. I think these suggestions are helpful to show that you don’t have to wait.”
blogdepression
Stacey chose 14 Tips for Coping with Depression while Raising Children: Guest Blogger Jenessa from Mothering {In Real Life} from Chaos & Kiddos: Mommy’s Survival Guide. “Jenessa wrote such a beautiful and heartfelt post! Struggling with depression myself, she offered many wonderful ideas to help muddle through those difficult times, especially when trying to raise healthy and happy children. Our children still need us no matter how we feel, and so many of her tips were completely spot on in coping with depression and raising children.”
marry
Kimberly chose 10 Funny Marriage Proposal Disasters from A Kaleidoscopic Dream. “I am a sucker for a unique marriage proposal story. The ones that turn out opposite of how they were planned are the best. The ladies at A Kaleidoscopic Dream did not disappoint with these picks. Hilarious!”
10006955_371306733012332_1813280966_n
Jessica chose No, He Doesn’t Wear A Ring. from Blessed in Alabama. “How true! My husband and I have been married 4 years August 9th and I can happily say that he does not wear a ring,,, and surprise! Neither do I. His reason is because of his job. My reason? I lost weight (LOL!!). However, we are still happily together and the ring does not define our marriage – our trust and love for each other does. Thanks for the post!”
Chelsea also chose this post. “I chose this post because I think it really proves a point. People get so caught up in appearances and what others think of them. It was a nice refresher to know that someone out there is living freely, and doing what works for them. I especially liked it because I can certainly relate. Although I am not married as of yet, my boyfriend of 6 years obviously does not wear a ring. I do, but it’s a promise ring. Hah! I always get shade from people saying that it’s not equal for me to wear a ring (and say I’m off limits) but he is not. So, I was happy to see what she had to say.”
briolette
Kelly chose You’re Going to Love This! from Woods of Bell Trees. “This was my favorite because I love the whole “Swap and tell” idea. It is a great opportunity for business owners, like me. It sounds like a really fun concept.”

SPONSOR OF THE MONTH

Debbie from Heartbeats ~ Soul Stains

Debbie
“Heartbeats Soul Stains is a place I’d like to share my thoughts and experiences on being a woman, wife, a mother of 7, friend and survivor of many different obstacles, challenges and tragedy.
I will share the good, the bad and the oh so ugly things that happen in a family our size. Life is hard for all of us, we all have those crosses to carry. Life is also very beautiful and precious and I am determined to never take the amazing blessing I have been given for granted.”
Stop by and check out her blog…it’s definitely a great read!

Ashley chose Blog Tracker { FREE Printable } from Budget Girl. “Thank goodness for Chelsey at Budget Girl! She created a Blog Tracker FREE printable for all of our social media and posts statistics. It’s a perfect way for a blogger to keep track of all our blog’s numbers.”

Cindy chose Freezer Crockpot Meals – Prepare a Week of Meals in 1 hour from Sidetracked Sarah. “I’m a wanna be freezer cooker and I think my picky family would actually eat most of the meals she has listed here.”

Alycia chose 25 Life Lessons I Want My Daughter to Know from Seven Graces. “I love this post. I have been thinking about a post like this for Palmer for quite some time now. Kristy touches on all the points I think are important. Raising a child can be difficult at times, and teaching them life lessons can be equally as hard. As a parent, all you want to do is instill great qualities in your child; these points are perfect! A must read!”

Katy chose Pom Pom Pets from The Pinterested Parent. “Something so simple, yet makes me giggle every time I look at them. Such a great family project with super cute results and the “buggy” theme will be a big hit for my boys. Can’t wait to spend a Saturday afternoon creating our own little pack of pom pom pets!”

Victoria chose Ten Tips for Tired Moms from Balm to My Soul. “I chose 10 Tips for a Tired Mom because I am that mom. I constantly feel tired every day of the week. This post provided me with the reminders that I desperately needed.”

Stacey chose Homemade Dill Pickles-2 ways- no canning required (unless you want to)! from Random Reviews. “My mom always canned pickles, but there was always some part of them that I just did not care for. Reading that Lindsay thinks that Claussen are the best, and my family would agree, I plan to try out this recipe for the refrigerator pickles once my cukes come out in my garden! Thank you so much for sharing!”

Tara chose Oreo Peanut Butter Brownie Cupcakes! from What Rose Knows. “Oreo’s, Peanut Butter, and Brownies are some of my favorite dessert/treats, so when I saw this recipe it made my mouth water! Looks delicious! Going to be making some of these for sure :)”

Jessica chose Letter to A Friend… from My Silly Little Gang. “Wow! I wanted to cry!! I am slated to go to my 25th high school reunion in a few months. I am really excited to see everyone again since we all live so far away from each other. However, the letter is also spot on for some I haven’t spoken to in awhile. It makes you realize that the older one gets, the more important relationships are in the end :).”

Natasha chose Baby #2 from All of Life’s Little Adventures. “It’s amazing how others are so interested in whether or not you will have children! People were asking me if I would have a second since my son was born, even though I wasn’t in a relationship! I agree with you – expand your family when you want to, not when you’re supposed to. Wishing you the best!”
