Santa Claus Letters

Santa Claus Letter

Is your child on the Naughty or Nice list?  It’s the time of year that children are dreaming.  They are watching commercials and browsing flyers. My grandchildren love to mark the flyers so I can see and remember what they want.  I’m sure other children are also dreaming of a new doll, video game, bike or the latest Jordan shoes too.

Thousands of letters will be written to Santa Claus and mailed to the North Pole.  They will be listing everything that they want under the tree.  Little elves will be checking the list to ensure that the boys and girls on the Nice not Naughty List.  So, making the Nice List is always been an incentive for good behavior this time of year.

My grandchildren are rewarded with this Santa Claus Letter before Christmas. The letter lets them know that they’re on the Nice List.  There’s also a Nice List Certificate.  Good behavior should always be rewarded.  It’s also a great way to keep them motivated to stay on the Nice List.

You can download the letter and certificate here.  Oh, be sure to leave Santa a nice plate of cookies and a big glass of milk too. Santa needs his strength to deliver those gifts.  Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas.

Watch Santa’s Reindeer

Christmas activities, Santa's reindeer, reindeer

Want to watch Santa’s reindeer? You can tune into the live feed at  http://reindeercam.com/  It’s the perfect activity to get your children excited about Christmas.  Let them watch while you’re decorating the tree?  Each evening at 5:00 pm EST the reindeer are fed.  The children can watch the reindeer resting and gathering their strength for the big trip on December 25.

Also, you can also add your child’s name to the Nice List for a fee on the site or you can write Santa a letter per the instructions on the site.  Once the letter is received, your child’s name will be added to the Nice List.

Do you know the history of Santa’s reindeer, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, DonnerBlitzen. The 1823 poem by Clement C. MooreA Visit from St. Nicholas” (also known as “The Night Before Christmas” or “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas”) is credited for the eight flying reindeer and their names per Wikipedia. This portion of the poem introduces the reindeer:

“When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny rein-deer,
with a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and call’d them by name:
“Now, Dasher! Now, Dancer! Now, Prancer, and Vixen!
“On, Comet! On, Cupid! On, Dunder and Blixem!

“To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
“Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!”

So, we know the history of Santa’s reindeer now.  Reading The Night Before Christmas has become a favorite during the holiday season in my home.  Finally, be sure to print our Nice Letter and Certificate from Santa.  While you’re waiting for Santa and his reindeer to arrive, make a batch of your favorite holiday cookies.  What are some of your holiday traditions?

Making Memories

Have you visited the Hunt Club in Virginia Beach, VA?  It’s a wonder place to visit if you’re looking for opportunities to make great memories with your children.  They offer so many activities throughout the year from Easter Bunny and egg hunts to pumpkin patches, carnival rides and photo opportunities with Santa Claus.  I’ve taken my grandson there for the past several years to visit the pumpkin patch and the Winter Wonderland.  This is a picture of Xavier’s first pony ride.  His mother was truly bringing up the rear on his journey, lol.  That pony couldn’t take a step without her taking one too.  Neverless, we had a wonder time.  Xavier enjoyed the ride although he said it was “bumpy”.
I enjoy creating memories with my grandson.  I’m always looking for an opportunity to expose him to all that the world has to offer.  The Hunt Club provides an opportunity to enjoy a family day in a beautiful and safe setting.  I will be taking him to the Winter Wonderland next week-end to visit Santa.  Last year, he wasn’t interested in sitting on Santa’s lap.  He wasn’t having anything to do with him.  In case he decides he doesn’t want anything to do with him this year either, we can still visit the beautiful display of animated characters, a petting zoo with lights and a bonfire for roasting marshmallows.  I don’t know who has the most fun on our journeys, Xavier or me.  If you’re in the area, it is truly worth a visit.  Beware, your children will want to visit again and again.
