Quotable Sunday

Today is Quotable Sunday thanks to Toni at A Daily Dose of Toni. We list our favorite quotes on Quotable Sunday and visit the blogs of all those who are participating.  As a result of Kayne West’s rude behavior at the Video Music Awards (VMA), I decided to focus on Forgiveness Quotes today.

Once a woman has forgiven her man, she must not reheat his sins for breakfast. ~Marlene Dietrich

The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. ~Mahatma Gandhi

Forgiveness is a funny thing. It warms the heart and cools the sting. ~William Arthur Ward

Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future. ~Paul Boese

Forgiveness is the sweetest revenge. ~Isaac Friedmann

Forgive all who have offended you, not for them, but for yourself. ~Harriet Nelson

There’s no point in burying a hatchet if you’re going to put up a marker on the site. ~Sydney Harris

Always forgive your enemies – nothing annoys them so much. ~Oscar Wilde

We must all ask for forgiveness at some point in our life. Lets hope that Kanye West sees that there is a time and place for everything, and understands that freedom of speech shouldn’t be at the expensive of others.

I hope you enjoyed my quotes this week. I have two favorites this week, the first and the last quotes. Leave us a comment and let us know your favorite quote. Feel free to leave your take on Kenye West and his behavior at the VMA too.

Quotable Sunday

Today is Quotable Sunday thanks to Toni at A Daily Dose of Toni. Each Sunday, we share a few of our favorite quotes. This week, I decided to focus on perseverance. I need to lose 20 pounds. I decided to take baby steps and focus on my goal 10 pounds at time. My goal is to lose 10 pounds within the next 8 weeks and I must embrace perseverance to be successful. My weight has been a struggle for me over the years, I can’t manage to get it off I love food, but I hate to exercise. My health has become a factor now, I’m borderline diabetic so it’s imperative that I start exercising regularly and get off the excess weight.

I’m scared to death of needles so that’s another incentive for me to work hard. I can’t imagine giving myself insulin shots.

Here are a few quotes for those of us who need to perserve with some endeavor:

“Consider the postage stamp; its usefulness consists in the ability to stick to one thing until it gets there.” Josh Billings

“I do not think there is any other quality so essential to success of any kind as the quality of perseverance. It overcomes almost everything, even nature.” John D. Rockefeller

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” Winston Churchill

“Success seems to be connected with action. Successful men keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.” Conrad Hilton

“In order to get from what was to what will be, you must go through what is.” Anonymous

“Never give up. Never, never give up! We shall go on to the end.” Winston Churchill

My favorite quote is the first one by Josh Billings. Leave us a comment and let us know your favorite quote this week. If you would like to join us and share your quotes, visit A Daily Dose of Toni and leave the link to your blog.

It’s Quotable Sunday

It’s Quotable Sunday thanks to Toni at A Daily Dose of Toni. Each Sunday we share a few of our favorite quotes. This Sunday I decided to share a few quotes on bereavement. Believe it or not, back in the day I was a dancing machine and a big fan of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. (I can barely get off the sofa now, lol). My daughter picked up where I left off, she danced classical ballet and jazz for 12 years. Needless to say, music was big in my house hold. We have every album by the Jackson 5 and every CD made by Michael Jackson. No, album is not a mistake. I have the Jackson 5 albums.

I remember sitting for hours with my daughter watching Thriller, I’m Bad, Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal, Black or White and so many other videos thinking this man is a genius. No one has or will ever come close to his talent. He took music, dance, videos, choreography and entertainment to a new level. Many have tried to emulate him, but none have ever been able to reach his ingenuity. Regardless of his personal struggles, in my opinion he will go down in history as the greatest entertainer of all time.

I would like to encourage each of my readers to live life to the fullest. Forgive your enemies, apologize to everyone that desires an apology from you, love your families, dream big and live large. We never know when our time will be up.

Please take a quote and bury it in your heart so you can draw upon the strength of these words in your hours of bereavement.

May Michael Jackson’s family and fans be blessed and may he Rest In Peace. In his own words, Like A Rainbow Fading In the Twinkle Of An Eye, Gone Too Soon.

You don’t really get over it; you get used to it.– Robert S. Weiss

Preserve your memories. They’re all that’s left for you.– Paul Simon

I look upon life as a gift from God. I did nothing to earn it. Now that the time is coming to give it back, I have no right to complain. – Joyce Cary

It’s only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth — and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up, we will then begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had.- Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

The angels are always near to those who are grieving, to whisper to them that their loved ones are safe in the hand of God. – Eileen Elias Freeman

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.- Unknown

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. – From a headstone in Ireland

Quotable Sunday

It’s Quotable Sunday. I love quotes, and I thank Toni at A Daily of Toni for creating the opportunity to share a few of my favorite quotes. This week I decided to focus on Success. I chose Success because I’ve had to make a decision regarding my mother, placing her in a Nursing Home temporarily for rehabilitation. I lost my father 10 years ago.

I’ve spent hours this week-end thinking about who I am, where I’ve been, and where I intend to go. I looked at the pictures of my beautiful daughter and grandson, my most precious possessions.  I know that my mother and father are the foundation of my Success. How else could I end up here from where I came from.  They never stopped encouraging, supporting or loving me, and that has truly been the reasons for my success. Here’s to you Mom and Dad:

No matter what accomplishments you make, somebody helped you.
Althea Gibson

If you have achieved any level of success, then pour it into someone else. Success is not success without a successor.
Jesse Jackson

Most people search high and wide for the keys to success. If they only knew, the key to their dreams lies within.
Heram Cain

I just try to be the best I can be and hope that is the best ever.
Tiger Woods

There is in this world no such force as the force of a person determined to rise. The human soul cannot be permanently chained.
W.E.B. Dubois

You’re not obligated to win. You’re obligated to keep trying to do the best you can every day.
Marian Wright Edelman

I try to do the right thing at the right time. They may just be little things, but usually they make the difference between winning and losing.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

I’ve always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come. I don’t do things half-heartedly. Because I know if I do, then I can expect half-hearted results.
Michael Jordan

The first quote by Althea Gibson and the last by Michael Jordon are my favorites. Leave us a comment and let us know your favorite Success Quote. We would also like to know who has been a major contributor to your success. Be sure to visit A Daily Dose of Toni for quotes.
