Teen Beating Video Taped

What’s happening in our society? Are teenage girls becoming more aggressive? I wondered when I watched the video of the Florida teen being beaten by her friends, and I use the word friends loosely? I was stunned when I watched the video. According to reports, the sixteen year old’s friends lured her to one of their homes and beat her unconscious. Their intention was to post the video on Youtube. When she came through, they beat her again. Not only did they beat her, the video shows one girl blocking the door so she couldn’t leave. Two teens were watching outside to warn the 6 teens involved if an adult showed up as 5 video cameras rolled inside. A phone cam and digital camera were also used to record the beating. Premediation in this situation would be an understatement.

Why would these teens plan something so savage? Because the 16 year old who was beaten had posted some unfavorable remarks about them on Myspace. A representative from the Sheriff’s Department stated that the teens involved showed no remorse. They were more concerned about missing cheerleading practice and going to the beach. One mother, Christen Garcia, stated that the teen beaten shouldn’t have made the remarks on Myspace if she couldn’t back up what she said. Other words, she asked for it. It should be noted that this particular mother is not raising her teenage daughter, she is being raised by her grandmother. I wonder why? The parents of the other teens involved have expressed remorse for their children’s behavior. The video can be found over the internet, and again is shocking. The beating lasted 30 minutes plus. The beaten teen now suffers blurred vision and lost of hearing in her left ear.

I stated previously that the teens involved in the beating intented to post the video on Youtube. Have you seen the violence involving teens on that site? I was interested in seeing the video where the nanny was caught on tape abusing the twins, I found it on Youtube. Since I was on the site, I decided to search for the video involving a fight between a teen and a bus driver in Arizonia. This particular incident came to my attention while I was at work; however, I was unable to view it in its entirety so I wanted to see what it was about. As I was watching the video, I realized that there was a list of videos involving teenage girls fighting. There were street fights, school fights and any other fight that you can think of. My initial reaction was, wow people are interested in watching this. So, I was not surprised that the teens intented to post that particular fight among them. It seems to be the thing to do.

I think about my daughter, and I can’t imagine her being involved in such violence and deceit. I asked myself how would I have reacted and what would I have done if my daughter had been involved in something like this? Should the parents of the teens be blamed for their children’s behavior or should sites like Youtube and Myspace be blamed for encouraging teens to post such violence? The beaten teen has now been removed from the public school system, and is now being home schooled. How sad.

Santa Banned From Saying Ho Ho Ho

Will Santa be banned from saying Ho Ho Ho? Santas in Sydney, Australia are being told to say Ha Ha Ha instead of Ho Ho Ho because they may offend women and frighten children. Negativity from the use of the word “Ho” in the United States has caused a controversy and would be Santas are rebelling. Santas are refusing to abide and are quiting the business rather than give up the traditional Ho Ho Ho.

When I think of the words Ho Ho Ho, promiscious women are the furtherest from my mind. When rappers refer to women, they use the word Ho not Ho Ho Ho. Those three words are Santa’s customary greeting, and they are associated with one of the most joyous times of the year. Children expect to hear Santa greet them with Ho Ho Ho. In my opinion, the world is in a sad state when Santa is being told to no longer use his greeting because he may offend women and frighten children. I don’t remember a time when my daughter was frightened by the words nor was I offended when I hear Santa shout them out. Furthermore, during the time that my daughter believed in Santa Claus, she had no knowledge of a promicious women. How many children in this age group do?

What I find offensive is the drunken Santas of the world. Falling down, stumbling, and cursing Santas are shown regularly on television and can be seen at the local malls. What’s being done to remedy that problem? There aren’t many traditions left in today’s society. It’s hard to believe that someone would tamper with this one.

Bye Bye Plane

“Bye Bye Plane” repeatly uttered by a 19 month old frustrated a stewardess enough to eject mom and baby from a Contential Express plane. According to Kate Penland from sububaran Atlanta, the stewardess requested that she medicate her 19 month old with Benadryl to keep him quiet. Before making the request Penland stated that the stewardess leaned over the passenger seated next to her and said, ‘It’s not funny anymore. You need to shut your baby up”. Penland said she asked the stewardess if she was kidding and the stewardess stated, “You know, it’s called baby Benadryl.”

Penland refused. Fellow passengers defended Penland and her baby stating they were bothering anyone; however, the stewardess announced that they would be turning around and the two would be removed from the plane. Penland said she learned later that the stewardess had told the pilot that she (Penland) had threatened her. Based on that statement the pilot decided to turn the plane around and remove Penland from the flight. Penland said she became distraught when she was told that she and her baby would be removed from the flight. There had been an 11 hour delay before she boarded the plan, and she had exhausted her supply of pampers, milk and juice.

Passengers have stated that their was no threat made. Penland told the stewardess, “Well, I’m not going to drug my child so you have a pleasant flight”. An investigation is pending according to Express Jet.

What is this country coming to? Studies have shown that our children are over medicated as it is. Why should a stewardess have the power to dictate that a child be medicated? Would you have medicated your child? I certainly would not have medicated mine. I would have made attempts to distract him with a toy or snack, but give him Benadryl to shut him up. What if they child had previous reactions to Benadryl? This stewardess had no knowledge of the baby’s medical history; therefore, she had no right to make this request. What steps will you be taking to avoid being ejected from the plane for your child’s utterances? Better think ahead! Let us know your thoughts and plans.
