5 Fun Summer Activities For Your Kids

kids summer activities, summer activities

It’s about that time of the year again when the sun will shine brightly, the birds  will sing loudly, the flowers will be in full bloom.  Summer’s around the corner, and my little ones could not be happier. Also, everyone will flock to the beaches.  Along with the freedom to build sandcastles on the beaches and play long hours in the pool, they also have a long break to look forward to.
Next, the  problem’s mine.  I have to think of new ways to keep them occupied throughout the summer.  Otherwise, I’ll hear “we-are-so-bored” rants right on the third day of their vacation. Well, if your problem is similar to mine, I have a solution.  Here is a list of five summer activities that your kids are sure to enjoy:
Foil River Can’t take the little ones out boating? Fortunately you can help them build a river right in your backyard.  All you need is aluminum foil and a garden hose.  So, take a few sheets of aluminum foil and roll up the sides to make a U-shaped stretch of an artificial river.  Turn on the garden hose and let the water flow through the aluminum river. You can also build ice boats by freezing colored water in ice molds and topping it with toothpicks that can hold tiny flags. Sit back and watch the excitement unfold.  Your little ones are sure to have a blast with this activity.  Even after the ice boats have melted, your kids can sail paper boats in the artificial river.

Stamping Glory – Worried that your kids will create havoc stamping in your living room when bored?  With this fun activity, they can go stamping without you  having to worry about any damage. Spread out a wide sheet of white cloth in your yard.  Also, hand your kids some paints, cut potatoes and apples, along with sheets of bubble wrap, tied to their feet. Let your kids dip the potatoes, apples and their feet in the paint.  They can create  stamping impressions across the sheet. This is a great activity to help your little ones let loose and open a whole new world of fascinating pattern ideas. An interesting variation to this activity is to let your kids stamp within the outline print of their favorite cartoon characters. Doing this will improve their concentration skills and help them develop a neat hand at art.

Dress Up Parade – Who wants to watch fashion shows on TV when little fashionistas are sitting right in your house. Involve the entire neighborhood and their kids in a fun evening of dress up parade. Keep 2-3 themes for the evening and have the kids dress up in outfits according to the theme allotted to them. The evening is sure to be fun not just for the kids but for all you adults too. You can follow up the fashion parade by distributing delicious treats and gifts to all the teeny tiny models.

Outdoor Movie Screening – Movie nights are loved by all kids and adults alike. Here’s a way you can double the fun. Put up a projector and screen a movie out in your backyard. Take charge of the snack counter and make some delightful munchies for the kids to enjoy. You can involve other families in the movie carousel too!

Balloon Ping Pong – We all have those days when we just want to sit back and do nothing, but our kids don’t let us. I sail in the same  boat, and it’s during times like these that the balloon ping pong activity comes to my rescue. All you need is two paper plates, two ice cream sticks, and one balloon to prepare for this amazingly entertaining activity.  Next, stick the ice cream sticks on the paper plates to make the ping pong bats. Let+ your kids have fun bouncing the balloon to and fro. Ensure your kids play in a room free of any breakables so as to prevent damage.
Finally, Let your kids cherish some great moments with these amazing activities.  Also, which one of the 5 activities is your favorite? Let me know in the comments section below.  You may also like 4 Top Family Activities in Bali.

9 Kid’s Easter Breakfast Ideas

kids Easter Breakfast ideas

Easter is around the corner! My grandchildren will be visiting, and I wanted to celebrate Easter Sunday with a fun breakfast. I decided to search out Easter Bunny breakfast ideas and thought I would share my roundup.

I’m not the most artistic person, so I searched for ideas that I could create without too much of a struggle. Here’s what I found:

1.  Pancake Bunny 1 – First, I found this adorable little guy at Crafty Morning. Simple to make, 3 pancakes of various sizes and a little whipped cream.

2.  Pancake Bunny 2 – Found this bunny on I Heart Publix. Number 2 and Number 8 are the same bunny, except different ingredients were used. Be creative, use what your family will eat.

3.  Pancake Bunny 3 – Next, I found this bunny on Fun Kitchen and My Three Sons. This is a crafty blogger who loves to bake. If baking is your thing, you should connect with her.

4.  Peeping Chicks – Found this chick on Fun Kitchen and My Three Sons. My grandchildren love scrambled eggs, so this is perfect. You will need kitchen shears to shape the pancakes.

5.  Pancake Bunny 4 – In addition to the other great ideas, I found this bunny on Taste of Home. I love this bunny. It’s at the top of my list to make during the Easter holiday minus the coconut. Don’t think I can get the grandchildren to eat it.

6.  Bunny Bread – Also, I found this idea on Sweet and Salty.   Adorable, but you will have to translate the blog to English or create your own vision. The bunny was so cute, I just had to share.

7. Flower Pot Pancakes –  Amazingly, I found this adorable flowerpot and flowers on Jim’s Pancakes. This site is amazing. The blogger specializes in kid’s pancake ideas.  Amazingly, there’s turtles, crabs, pancakes shaped like bacon and eggs and the list goes on.  So, be sure to check out this blog for creative ideas.

8. Pancake Bunny 5 –  So, this is the same bunny as number 2.  However, the ingredients have been changed.

9. Bunny Biscuits My grandson loves biscuits for breakfast.  I found the image on Pinterest, but I’m unable to locate it now to give you the URL to the site.  However, it uses refrigerated biscuits, half of a cherry, raisins, and slivered almonds.

Also, use a whole biscuit for the head and another cut in half for the ears. I’m going to just use raisins with the slivered almonds, I think chocolate chips will work too.  Bake according to the directions.

Finally, I hope you enjoyed my kids Easter breakfast ideas.  We hope you found an Easter breakfast idea that has inspired you.  Additionally, my grandchildren love fun breakfast treats, and I love making them smile.  Dishes like this create wonderful memories.

How To Make A Frugal Easter Wreath

Easter crafts, Easter

Do you like my frugal Easter wreath?  Since winter is officially over, I removed my winter wreath.  My daughter and her family will be visiting next week for Easter, so I wanted a casual wreath to welcome them. The wreath is only going to be up for a few weeks, so I didn’t want to spend a fortunate purchasing one. I had a old wreath laying around, so I headed to the Dollar Tree to for items to make one.

I purchased 2 bags of plastic Easter eggs, a bunny and a handful of flower sprigs. The total cost for items $10.00. Not bad for a wreath that will be hanging 2 – 3 weeks, what do you think?

Giveaways!

And now for our giveaway of the month!
ema_giveaway
From Sarah at Grace in Oils: I am so excited to partner with Natasha from Epic Mommy Adventures for this awesome giveaway! We are giving away three books & three Young Living essential oils. I originally got started with Young Living and essential oils in July 2014. I did a lot of research before choosing this company. I run a blog Grace In Oils (www.graceinoils.com) where I talk about my research, how I use essential oils, and other fun things! My goal with my blog and my Young Living business is to help bring essential oils into every home. I want everyone to know they can use essential oils! While I encourage research I also offer resources to those I enroll to help empower them to get answers to their questions. I chose Young Living due to their Seed to Seal guarantee and I go into that on my blog. If you are interested in starting your journey with Young Living I would LOVE to have you be a part of my team. I fully support those I enroll via online groups, an e-series, and more! I also offer a really amazing Welcome Kit free to those who choose to become a Wholesale Member with Young Living via purchase of a Premium Starter Kit (https://beta.youngliving.com/vo/#/signup/start?sponsorid=1938897&enrollerid=1938897).

Spiral Candle Review

I love candles. I burn them year round and especially on the week-ends while I’m relaxing and sipping my coffee. The smell of a good candle is yummy and soothes the senses. When I was asked by Spiral Light Candle Corporation to review one of their candles I jumped at the opportunity. I went to the site and debated over and over on the scent that I wanted to try. The site has approximately 50 – 60 different scents to choose from, so I waivered. I finally selected the Buttered Rum and waited in anticipation for its arrival. I must say, I was not disappointed. It smelled heavenly just removing it from the box.

On to the review, this candle is unique. Check out the picture, the wick is on the side of the candle versus the center. As the candle burns, it fills the middle. For safety purposes, please remove the paper wrapper before burning. I left the paper on the candle initially for advertising purposes.

While the candle was burning, I was expecting a more powerful scent to emerge. It didn’t, but I was fascinated by how it burned and for how long. Once the well of the candle fills, you can light the center wick and you  continue to enjoy the candle. I love this idea, I’ve never seen a candle burn in this manner. You can check out the demonstration here

I have found a new candle resource. There are several other scents that I would like to try like the Cinnamon and Cabernet. The Apple Spice is on my list for my daughter. She loves to burn candles like her mother. These candles would be a great birthday, Mother’s Day, or holiday gift, so keep them in mind. I know I will.

Disclaimer – I received the above product for review; however, all opinions are my own.
